Inspiration: Broadcast // Trish Keenan

“Written from the perspective of a mythological harmony group. I like the idea of conjuring up a weird cult of science worship, a kind of modern day Eloi who believe in a united being, the unity of all things. The kind of early philosophy I imagine ancient men and women were in touch with, that innate loop of thinking that regarded the world not as something we are in, but as a place that is present within us. The fuzz guitar makes me think of that C.A. Quintet cave setting and the 3/4 dark and obsessive waltz is kind of a world turning, dawn of a new era feel.” - Trish Keenan on "The Be Colony" (Witch Cults/Focus Group Album) in an interview with the Wire. Hear song here.

collages

I took some old prints of mine and made them into handmade collages. Thanks James for sharing your Mod Podge.

Domestic Things: Zack

Over the past few months I have been slowly working on a personal project where friends or acquaintances kindly let me into their personal spaces so that I can photograph them in their homes. The idea was inspired by a book that my high school sculpture teacher showed me many, many years ago, but has always stuck out in memory. That book was called Suburbia by Bill Owens. I was inspired by its simplicity and my own curiousness of venturing into some amazing old homes in Portland, and even more so by the creative and interesting people I have come to meet over the years.
