Crowe + Smith Wedding!

Saturday May 23, 2015 James Crowe and I got married! It was a lot of work putting this all together ourselves on a small budget in just a few months, but well worth it. When the day came it was truly perfect. It was such a great team effort from all our friends and family and we couldn't have done it with out them. My mom made two macrame curtains for our ceremony arbor and reception. We gathered driftwood from the Cheakamus River to make our signs and arbor. James machined both of our rings out of stainless steel. One of my best friends was our officiator. One of my best friends and bridesmaid made my sterling and coral necklace and James a bolo tie with an Oregon Jasper stone. Another great friend did all the girls' hair. My and the bridesmaids' dresses were from Free People. Table cloths were found by my other best friend and bridesmaid at thrift stores, from her own personal stash, or ones passed down from our grandmas. A family friend made our cake. A good friend was the DJ and played the best vinyl from John Denver to Waylon Jennings. Our friends took the photos. We had wildflowers in mason jars that belong to James' mom. I made a little stained glass piece to hang over the cake. Our caterer was a man from Texas who lived in Portland for 10 years and now lives in Pemberton who nailed it on the food making a perfect blend of Texas and Pacific Northwest favorites. My sisters decorated the barn and the families helped clean up. Our getaway car was James' best friend's Nova. After the reception in Pemberton we went home to Whistler for an afterparty in the backyard. It lightly rained during the ceremony, but then the sun came out just in time for the reception. So thankful for everyone who helped make our day so special.
